Top Shelf Storage Solutions - The Lift

No need to get a ladder, hang hooks on the wall or suspend anything from the ceiling. The Lift’s patent motorized overhead garage storage lift system design allows you to store bikes, totes, tools, tires, sporting equipment and much more with just a push of a button.

The Lift by Top Shelf Storage Solutions utilizes the industry standard 2" hitch receiver by allowing you to lift and store away common bike racks and cargo carriers you may already own. Or choose from the following optional attachments sold here: the Malone Bike Rack, the Cargo Rack, and / or the Roof Rack, which is designed to emulate the roof racks on your truck / SUV / crossover.

The Lift currently comes in two lifting capacities – 200lbs and 400lb and comes with 1 lifting Trolley with a 300lb lifting limit. To utilize maximum capacity on the 400lb model add on a 2nd trolley with the Double Trolly Kit or the Double Hitch Connector Kit.

The finished product is designed to be easily assembled, installed and safely operated with no prior experience or training needed. Daily operation mirrors the ease of a simple garage door opener.

Note: Lifting capacity of each trolley is based on the center of the load being lifted. If your load is centered less than 24" from the wall, the capacity is 300lbs. If more than 24” away from the wall, the load capacity decreases to 200lbs. It is not recommended to lift loads centered further than 36” from the wall.

Safety Features

• The Lift Motor has an electronic brake when not in use to keep The Lift from moving
• The Lift stops quickly if the gear being lifted or attachment comes into contact with something
• The controller includes a child safety lockout that must be turned to release
• The Up/Down button on the controller must be held down for The Lift to move in either direction (this keeps the user out of harm's way and attention focused on the movement of The Lift)
• A channel safety pin is provided to provide extra security that The Lift will not come down when not in use
• A hitch receiver safety pin is provided to secure the attachment into The Lift's hitch receiver
• The Lift is secured to the wall utilizing 12 lag screws (provided)
• A cargo net or tie-down straps are required to secure items to attachment when being lifted
• The Lift wire cable is aircraft-grade w/breaking strength of 2,000lbs

The Lift from Top Shelf Storage Solutions was designed to be easy to assemble with standard tools. There is minimal assembly before you are ready to install the finished product. Be sure that you have identified the ceiling height where you plan to install The Lift before purchasing. Measure the height of the ceiling from the top of the foundation to the ceiling using a tape measure. Once a ceiling height is known select the proper length of channel that will provide the highest lift possible for your install location.

Choosing an Installation Location

• Consider ceiling height, electrical outlet location, size of item(s) scored and ease of access.
• Determine the total width of the rack(s) and items to be stored items and allow approximately 2' of clearance from adjacent walls, shelves and other objects
• An open floor area below THE Lift equal to the width and depth of the rack and stored item(s) is required.

The Lift requires two people to lift and secure to the wall. Locate an area that provides at least 10' of clear space on the wall and a 10' x 10' clear floor space to ensure safe operation. Using the stud finder locate a stud near the center of the area identified on the wall and mark the center of the stud with a pencil in multiple locations. Using a straight edge draw a vertical line through the pencil marks made earlier to identify where the channel will be mounted.
